Dr. Kakish is an experienced IT strategist with 25+ years of leadership experience in various industries with large institutions such as IBM, General Motors (GM), and the National Academies of Research (NAR) and Science (NAS), where he served as CIO, Chief Strategist, Sr. VP of Engineering, and Director of e-Commerce. He also has 15 years of experience in research and academia teaching numerous IT, Business, and Quality Management courses at a number of reputable universities and educational institutions within the US and abroad. Dr. Kakish serves as Assistant Dean – Information Technology, in the School of Science and Technology at Georgia Gwinnett College, Lawrenceville, GA. He directs over 30 Part-time IT faculty. Dr. Kakish chairs the ITEC1001 Intro to Computing Committee, the GGC Part-Time Faculty Committee, and serves on several other commissions and initiatives.
Dr. Kakish is a graduate of Georgia Tech, where he received his Bachelor and Master degrees in Information and Computer Science. He earned his doctorate degree in Management of Information Technology from Lawrence Technological University in Southfield, Michigan.
