Lisa Russell is an English Instructor at Georgia Northwestern Technical College. In addition, she teaches part-time in the School of Communication and Media and the English department.  Lisa is enthralled with history and creative nonfiction writing. Lisa wrote Lost Towns of North Georgia and her second book, Underwater Ghost Towns of North Georgia will be released August 2018 by History Press. She is launching a podcast called, "Beyond the Page."

Lisa is the former administrator of Georgia Writers Association and the Georgia Author of the Year Awards. She has supported many other Georgia authors and their publishing pursuits. She earned her master's degree in professional writing from Kennesaw State University.

Lisa lives in North Georgia with her husband, David. They enjoy their granddaughter, Charlotte Christine, and their three sons and their wives. The family is expecting granddaughter #2 June 2018 - Josie Brooke.
