Academic Integrity Policy

2. Our commitment to academic integrity

Tutoring only works if the student ends up able to do the work. Anything that substitutes for that — a completed assignment, a written answer to copy — trades a grade this week for a gap that shows up in the next exam.

Every tutor agrees to this policy before taking a session, and breaches end the engagement.

3. What our tutors will do

• Explain a concept as many different ways as it takes
• Work a parallel problem while you follow the reasoning
• Watch you attempt your own problem and prompt when you stall
• Point out where an argument or a calculation goes wrong, and ask why
• Review a draft and give feedback on structure, logic and clarity
• Teach citation, referencing and how to use sources properly
• Build exam technique, timing and revision plans
• Recommend practice material and further reading

4. What our tutors will not do

• Complete a homework assignment, problem set or project for you
• Write, rewrite or ghost-write an essay, report or dissertation
• Sit, join or assist with a test, quiz or exam in progress
• Provide answers to a graded take-home assessment
• Produce code that is submitted as your own work
• Complete online coursework by logging in to your account
• Supply solutions to leaked or unauthorised exam papers
• Help disguise work as your own in any other way

5. Student responsibilities

When you book a session you accept that you will:

• Submit only work you produced yourself
• Follow your institution's own academic honesty rules, which take precedence
• Tell your tutor if an assignment has restrictions on outside help
• Not ask a tutor to cross the lines above
• Not share session materials in a way that helps others cheat
• Not record or transcribe a session without consent

6. Why academic integrity matters

• Submitted work is the only evidence of what you actually understand
• Gaps compound — a skipped foundation makes the next topic harder, not easier
• Institutional penalties for misconduct range from a zero to expulsion
• Qualifications only hold value while they mean something
• The point of studying is capability, and capability cannot be outsourced

7. Reporting concerns

If a tutor offers to cross any of these lines, report it to [email protected]. Reports are investigated confidentially and we will tell you the outcome.

Institutions may also contact us at that address to verify the nature of a student's engagement with us.

8. Consequences of violations

Where this policy is breached we will, depending on severity:

• Issue a formal warning to the tutor or student involved
• Remove the tutor from the roster permanently
• Suspend or close the student account without refund
• Cooperate with a documented institutional investigation

If you are unsure whether a specific request crosses the line, ask before the session rather than during it. We would rather answer the question than decline the work.
